Irakli Kobakhidze on the German Ambassador: Fischer is such a tragic figure that expelling him would be a gift – when you are Khazaradze’s tenant, I don’t know what could be a greater tragedy than that

“Fischer is such a tragic figure that expelling him would be a gift,” – Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said to journalists regarding German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer.

Kobakhidze believes that the German Ambassador is in a tragic situation.

"Fischer is in a tragic condition, and even defending Fischer is a tragic act, though I don’t want to make special comments about this. He is such a tragic figure that expelling him would be a gift. It is tragic – when you are Khazaradze’s tenant, I don’t know what could be a greater tragedy,” – Kobakhidze stated.

For reference, the German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, wrote on the social platform X that the German Minister of State for European Affairs expressed deep concern regarding the direction Georgia is taking.

“I had a good conversation with the German Minister of State for European Affairs, Günter Krichbaum. He expressed deep concern about Georgia’s direction,” – wrote Ambassador Fischer.

According to him, the German Minister of State for European Affairs expressed full support from the German government towards him as ambassador.

“Of course, Germany rejects political violence. I publicly stated this in Georgia. Claiming otherwise is wrong and untrue,” – the diplomat wrote.
