The State Security Service confirms that, in addition to Levan Khabeishvili, Murtaz Zodelava has also been arrested

According to the State Security Service, along with Levan Khabeishvili, Chairman of the Political Council of the “United National Movement,” politician Murtaz Zodelava has also been arrested.

As explained at a briefing held by the SSG, Murtaz Zodelava attempted to escape, during which he physically resisted Anti-Corruption Agency officers and used force against one of them.

“During the arrest of Levan Khabeishvili, Murtaz Zodelava was also detained. At the moment of Khabeishvili’s arrest, he handed his mobile phone to Zodelava. In an attempt to hide the phone, Zodelava tried to escape, physically resisting Anti-Corruption Agency officers and using force against one of them. His actions are being qualified under Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of 2 to 5 years of imprisonment,” the SSG stated.
