A grand amusement park will be built in the Tbilisi Dendrological Park, and Bidzina Ivanishvili’s family will contribute to its construction, the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, said in a video posted on the social Facebook.

As he noted, in 2017, when the Dendrological Park rehabilitation project was announced, the first step in the development of the territory was the relocation of the zoo to the vicinity of the Tbilisi Sea.

According to the mayor of Tbilisi, the amusement park has no analogues not only in Georgia, but also in the region, and it will be the largest park.

“We have a dendrological park in the Tbilisi Sea area, which stretches over approximately 160 hectares. The unique recreational potential and biodiversity of the area are attractive not only to the local population, but also to citizens living in other areas of the capital and visitors to the city. The park also borders the new Tbilisi Zoo. In 2017, we promised the public that we would implement a new project - we would carry out relevant work so that the dendrological park would be preserved, but the first thing we did was to move the zoo to this area.

We have an old zoo in the city center, which we started moving to the Tbilisi Sea area several years ago, because its condition does not meet modern requirements for either animals or visitors. Accordingly, we planned to move the zoo to an area of ​​approximately 50 hectares and directly borders the dendrological park. We want to first complete this project - the relocation of the zoo, and then to renovate and rehabilitate the park.

Given that the Tbilisi Sea has become a kind of destination for visitors to both the zoo and the dendrological park, we have decided to organize a grandiose park of attractions on the territory of the dendrological park, which has no analogues not only in Georgia, but also in the region. It will be the largest amusement park in the region,” said Kakha Kaladze.

According to him, experienced specialists in this field will be involved in the planning of the park and will use analogues such as: Disneyland”, Legoland, Universal Studio and others.

“A special contribution to the construction of the park will be made by Bidzina Ivanishvili’s family and the Cartu charity foundation, which, like many other projects, will also bear significant costs this time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family for the many good things they have done for the city. The amusement park will be planned by experienced specialists in this field and will use analogues such as: Disneyland, Legoland, Universal Studios, etc. The territory will be divided into several zones - children's and family zones, food outlets, shops, relaxation zones, a celebration center, etc. Special emphasis will be placed on greenery and safety,” the Mayor of Tbilisi noted.

According to him, the existing green cover will be preserved in the territory, additional landscaping work will be carried out, underground communications will be arranged, and all other infrastructure necessary for the park will be placed.

Kakha Kaladze thanked Bidzina Ivanishvili's family once again and noted that many more interesting projects will be implemented in the coming years, with the support of financial organizations and the central government.
