Irakli Gharibashvili to journalists: “Shall we switch places?”

The trial of former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili is underway at the Tbilisi City Court.

The former Prime Minister is attending the hearing. He did not comment for the media before the trial. He entered into the court building through a side entrance instead of the central entrance.

He greeted the journalists in the courtroom and addressed them with the following remark: “Shall we switch places?”

The imposition of a preventive measure against Irakli Gharibashvili will be discussed at today’s trial.

The Prosecutor's Office is requesting a bail of 1 million GEL as a preventive measure against the former Prime Minister. In addition, the agency is also requesting the imposition of additional obligations on Gharibashvili, including the confiscation of his Georgian passport agencies and a ban on traveling outside the country.

For information, Irakli Gharibashvili was charged under Article 194, Part 3, Subparagraph “c” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to the legalization of illegal income, which was accompanied by the receipt of a particularly large amount of income.
