Irakli Gharibashvili agrees to the charges - he has the right to speak, whether he will use it or not is up to him, - Amiran Giguashvili, the lawyer of former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, told journalists before the start of the trial.
In addition, as he noted, he will talk about more details regarding the case after the end of the court hearing.
"Irakli Gharibashvili will attend the hearing. We will comment on the remaining issues that interest you after the consideration of the preventive measure. The defense position is that in this case Irakli Gharibashvili agrees to the charges. We will make all statements and comments after the court hearing is over. He has the right to speak, whether he will use it or not is up to him," - Amiran Giguashvili said.
In addition, when asked by journalists whether Irakli Gharibashvili had testified about his accomplices, the lawyer said that the former Prime Minister had not given such testimony.
“Irakli Gharibashvili has not given any testimony of this category and these issues are the prerogative of the investigation,” Giguashvili said.
For information, Irakli Gharibashvili has been charged under Article 194, Part 3, Subparagraph “c” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to legalization of illegal income, accompanied by receipt of a particularly large amount of income.
