Temur Chkonia: From what I've seen of corrupt people, I couldn't imagine such massive corruption existed, nor that there were such huge sums in Georgia - not just to earn, but even to steal

According to businessman Temur Chkonia, he could not have imagined such large-scale corruption existed in Georgia.

The businessman Temur Chkonia told journalists this before a meeting of business representatives with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, while assessing the arrests of former high-ranking officials and the legal procedures initiated against some of them.

"From my experience, watching corrupt people, I couldn't even imagine such massive corruption existed. Nor could I imagine that such huge sums existed in Georgia—not just to earn, but even to steal. It's a very big issue. I don't know at what level this corruption will stop. Whether it will be only at the top echelons, say, at the level of governors or the millionaires in Parliament—I don't know," Temur Chkonia told "TV Pirveli."

For reference, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is meeting with business representatives. The meeting is taking place at the "Paragraph" hotel. At the meeting, the businessmen are expected to discuss the planned education reform with the head of government.
