Blackmailing and pressuring Georgia will not work. We are not going to give up. Georgia will continue to prepare the country for EU membership, - the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, stated at the briefing, thereby responding to the enlargement report presented today by the European Commission.

According to Shalva Papuashvili, the Georgian Dream will continue to expose injustice, fight legally and "show the truth".

“Brussels’s regression in values ​​is evidenced by the support it provides to the violent groups that attempted to storm the presidential palace on October 4.

Now Brussels is trying to play on values, while the Georgian government and people have a real answer to their demands when it comes to democracy and the rule of law: these are Georgian and European values ​​- tolerance, the rule of law, respect for peace and development.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the aim of such an attitude on the part of Brussels is to make people to give up on the EU integration process, so that, like Hungary, Slovakia and now the Czech Republic, they do not accept another country that will not blindly obey Brussels’ instructions and directives.

Whether we give up in the face of unfair treatment, opposition and obstacles, this choice is ours. Not only today, but throughout our history.

We are seeing a real awakening in Europe, as countries, one after another, elect governments and strategies that return the EU to its true value system, rejecting Brussels’ unjust and inappropriate interference in internal affairs, national values, the will of people, true democracy and the rule of law.

We clearly see how Georgia’s future trajectory is intertwined with the path of development based on the proper values ​​of the EU.
