Irakli Kobakhidze: We will defend the country's national interests to the end in the Constitutional Court to the fullest - taking this step is absolutely important and necessary for the recovery of the democratic system, this is a matter of national importance.

We will defend the national interests of our country in the Constitutional Court. Taking this step is absolutely important and necessary for the recovery of the democratic system. This is a matter of national importance for our country, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told Georgian journalists in China.

According to him, anti-democratic and unconstitutional forces are constantly trying to overthrow the constitutional order of the country or change it through violence, and in such conditions, of course, the democratic system must protect itself, the mechanism for which is established by the Constitution.

"This is a matter of national importance for our country. You see that our country and its political system are spinning in a vicious circle. There is a criminal group, a foreign agency that does not give the country a chance to rest. These are anti-democratic, unconstitutional forces in their essence, which are constantly trying to overthrow the constitutional order of the country or change it through violence, and do not recognize the legitimacy of the government elected by people. In such conditions, of course, the democratic system must protect itself, and the mechanism for this is established by the Constitution of Georgia. This is a legal mechanism, a constitutional mechanism, which we will use to the fullest, we will defend the national interests of our country to the fullest in the Constitutional Court, and I will say once again that taking this step is absolutely important and necessary for the recovery of our democratic system. If it were not necessary for the recovery of our democratic system, of course, we would not have taken this step, but this is a necessary condition for establishing a healthy democratic system in Georgia once and for all," the Prime Minister said.
