We hope that the constant regression that the European space is experiencing today, both in terms of democracy, human rights and economy, will be reversed - we want to become a member of such a reversed EU, not of the EU that we see today, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Shanghai, assessing the European Commission's report.
According to the head of government, the current tragic situation is reflected in the problems that the European Union has created today, both economically and politically.
"In general, there is one great injustice reflected in this document. There are many specific distorted facts presented in this report, regarding which the public will naturally have its own assessment. This document as a whole reflects the tragic situation that has been created in the European bureaucracy. The result of this tragic situation, the loss of sovereignty, is that the EU economy, while it used to be 30% of the world economy, has now dropped to 17.5%. This share is decreasing from year to year. The tragic situation is reflected in both the economic problems and the political problems that the EU has created today, precisely by the European bureaucracy, due to the loss of sovereignty. We hope that this tragic situation will change and the constant regression that the European space is experiencing today, both in terms of democracy, human rights and economy, will be reversed. We want to become a member of such a reversed EU, and not a member of the EU that we see today," - said the Prime Minister.
