We are bound by a strategic partnership agreement with China, which has already had its practical results, including a bilateral visa-free regime, as well as trade and economic partnership, which is extremely important for Georgia, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in the Leaders Talk program of CCTV.
Kobakhidze spoke about the growing interest in Georgia from China and noted that Georgia will become an even more interesting destination for Chinese tourists in the future.
“We are trying to show the visitor our best side. Of course, Georgia is known for various products, and wine is one of the main products. We export to different countries and we are glad that wine exports to China are also growing. Georgia is the cradle of wine. For the first time, wine was made in Georgia 8,000 years ago. So, we present this pride of Georgia to the visitor. We are proud of our country, our beautiful landscapes and nature. We are glad that the number of Chinese tourists in Georgia is increasing. I think that Georgia will become an even more interesting destination for Chinese tourists in the future. We think that more direct flights will better promote people-to-people relations between our two countries. So this is one of the main priorities for us. This is a very important forum and statistics show that indicators are constantly increasing in all different areas when it comes to imports and exports. Of course, the free trade agreement that was signed in 2018, it promoted trade relations between China and Georgia. However, of course, this type of forum also makes a great contribution to the growth of partnership, trade and economic relations between our two countries, and we would like to use this opportunity in the future. We are connected by a strategic partnership agreement with China, which already has its practical results, including a bilateral visa-free regime, as well as trade and economic partnership. This is extremely important for Georgia,” the MP said.
