According to him, there is no alternative to the 24-hour protest.

“It is not my decision, it is Ivanishvili’s decision that I am here and on a hunger strike. Everyone who has understood that this is the right form of protest, joined the action and understands very well that for us this is not just a bad process that needs to be protested, this is a problem of existential importance that Ivanishvili’s regime has created in Georgia.

They have begun to isolate our country, in order to maintain the power, they have decided to erase everything, to establish a dictatorship. Countering such a situation with academic forms of protest is already inadequate. When there is an illegitimate government in the country and there are political prisoners, radical protest is necessary. If solidarity with the hunger strike is added to the hunger strike, we will come to the conclusion that a 24-hour protest is our solution, we will understand that the protest mood here should be 24 hours. We have a protest that is subject to certain restrictions. We have stepped out of our comfort zone and are here 24 hours a day. If there is a 24-hour protest group here, it will need tents and there will be tents accompanying this protest. It is unnatural that there is no hunger strike solidarity group. We will need the support of our friends and like-minded people in the 24-hour regime. We will soon be unable to care for each other. With this protest, we must convince everyone that there is no alternative to a 24-hour protest, there is no alternative to being on Rustaveli Street for 24 hours, someone may do this as a shift. If we are here for 24 hours, some may be here for 3-4-6 hours," Popkhadze noted.
