Brussels chooses confrontation instead of dialogue, which is also another sign of Brussels' departure from European values, - the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said while assessing the issue of not inviting Georgia to the enlargement forum.
According to Shalva Papuashvili, the European value is dialogue, not confrontation.
“There are two issues: this time, the spokesperson once again confirmed that this process was stopped by Brussels itself in June 2024. So once again, they have admitted with their own mouths what a disinformational, false narrative was being spread regarding the fact that the Georgian government had stopped the integration process. This is another confirmation and self-exposure.
Secondly, this once again shows that Brussels is choosing confrontation instead of dialogue, which is also another sign of Brussels’ deviation from European values. European values, as we Georgians understand them and of which we are co-creators, are dialogue and not confrontation, conversations and not directives, understanding the interests of others and not giving instructions. Brussels, unfortunately, today has strayed from these values, the result of which are precisely that confrontational tone, attacks and the rhetoric that we hear against the Georgian people," said Shalva Papuashvili.
For information, the European Commission's spokesperson for Enlargement, International Partnership and the Mediterranean, Guillaume Mercier, confirms that Georgia has not been invited to the Enlargement Forum scheduled for November 18 in Brussels. He told Euroscope editor Tamar Nutsubidze about this. He also said that Brussels has reduced contacts with the Georgian government.
