Law says Irakli Gharibashvili secured GEL 1 million bail with his house

Former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili has secured the GEL 1 million bail imposed on him as a preventive measure with his property.

His lawyer Lili Gelashvili confirmed the relevant information to InterpressNews.

According to the lawyer, the bail was secured with Irakli Gharibashvili’s property located at Moseshvili 10, where he currently lives with his family.

For information, former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili was granted a GEL 1 million bail as a preventive measure on October 24. The decision was made by Tbilisi City Court Judge Eka Barbakadze. By the judge’s decision, Gharibashvili was also subjected to other additional measures. In particular, his passport was confiscated and he was prohibited from leaving the country.

Irakli Gharibashvili was charged under Article 194, Part 3, Subparagraph “c” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to the legalization of illegal income, accompanied by the receipt of a particularly large amount of income. This crime under the Criminal Code provides for imprisonment from 9 to 12 years.
