Archil Gordulazde: If the elderly swindler Japaridze or Khazaradze are carrying out an assignment, they have no moral right to even mention the word ‘investment,’ because they tried to take one and a half billion from the pockets of the people and put it in their own

“We are hearing disinformation-filled statements about the unprecedented investment in the history of our country, which will create more than 24,000 jobs and increase our economic turnover. They do this because this is exactly the fate of an agent — he must speak absolute lies, he must sign everything and, most importantly, he must fulfill the assignment he has received, according to which the social environment in our country must worsen,” — stated Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs Archil Gordulazde regarding the Eagle Hills project.

According to him, the people spreading disinformation are the same ones who were unable to build the Anaklia port despite government support and “tried to take one and a half billion from the pockets of the Georgian people.”

“We have heard many disinformation campaigns directed against investments in our country — including xenophobic statements, for example regarding the construction of a Chinese city in Tbilisi. There is no such thing as a ‘Chinatown’ in Tbilisi. We heard similar claims about Azerbaijanis when the ‘Dirsi’ project was under construction, where Georgian citizens also own various real estate. And now we hear these statements about the unprecedented investment that will be made in Georgia’s economy — one that will create more than 24,000 jobs, 8,000 of which will be permanent, increasing our economic turnover and budget revenues.

Why are they doing this? Because this is the fate of an agent — he must tell absolute lies, sign everything put in front of him, and most importantly fulfill the assignment according to which the social background in our country must worsen. This is the only way the collective United National Movement can come to power. Laura Thornton says this openly and directly — and this assignment is being carried out now by, for example, the elderly swindler Japaridze or by Khazaradze. These are the same people who tried to take one and a half billion from the pockets of the Georgian people and put it into their own pockets. Therefore, these people have absolutely no moral right even to mention the word ‘investment.’ They are the people who did not and could not build the Anaklia port, even though the state stood by them in every way — even to the point of making a constitutional amendment for it. These people did nothing to build the port, and to escape responsibility they say they came into politics because of this. These are the kind of ‘moral’ people we are talking about,” said Gordulazde.

For reference, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the company Eagle Hills, a world-class developer, is entering Georgia with an investment exceeding 6 billion USD, which is the largest foreign direct investment in the history of independent Georgia.

“In Tbilisi, in Krtsanisi, on 600 hectares, a new green city will be built — a residential and commercial complex of more than one million square meters, including hotels and recreational spaces. In Batumi, on 250 hectares on the former military polygon territory, a new Black Sea coastal pearl will be developed — a premium-class resort that implies the development of world-class tourism infrastructure,” said the Prime Minister.
