Levan Khabeishvili’s family members and supporters holding demonstration in front of Prosecutor’s Office, demanding that restrictions on Khabeishvili's meetings and telephone communication be lifted

Supporters of Levan Khabeishvili are holding a demonstration in front of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Their demand is that the restrictions on meetings, correspondence and telephone conversations of the Chairman of the Political Council of the United National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, be lifted so that the imprisoned politician can communicate with his family members and minor children. They have also filed an application with the department with this request.

Family members, friends and supporters of Levan Khabeishvili have brought banners to the place with the inscriptions - "The best interests of the child have been trampled on", "It is our right to meet with the father", "Show the little Khabeishvilis their father", etc.

For information, Khabeishvili was charged under Part 2 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves promising to give a bribe or money to an official to commit an illegal act, so that he, while exercising his official rights and performing his duties, will take any action in favor of the bribe giver or refrain from taking any action.

In addition, Levan Khabeishvili was also charged under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves publicly calling for the overthrow of the state government.
