Gela Khasaia and Vasil Kerdikoshvili, members of the Girchi-More Freedom party, accused of intentional less serious bodily harm committed in a group, remain in custody.
The aforementioned decision was made by Tbilisi City Court Judge Nato Khujadze.
According to Khasaia's lawyer, Omar Purtseladze, the imposed detention should have been changed.
According to the lawyer, considering Khasaia's financial situation, a 5,000-GEL bail should have been applied to him.
Vasil Kerdikoshvili's lawyer also expressed the same position. Gela Khasaia also took the opportunity to speak.
"All this time, I have been trying to establish the truth in all this. I would accept it if the court, the prosecutor, explained to me how I can put pressure on witnesses more than the former Prime Minister of this country, Irakli Gharibashvili, who is out on bail, can," Khasaia said.
Judge Nato Khujadze interrupted him and told him to talk about his case.
"Gharibashvili has his own difficulties," Judge Khujadze said.
The preventive measure, detention, imposed on the detainees remained in force. The case was referred to the court for consideration on the merits.
For information, the prosecutor's office accuses Gela Khasaia of intentionally causing bodily harm to the victim - Ramaz Chaduneli - on September 1, in the vicinity of Tamar Mepe Avenue in Tbilisi, together with Vasil Kerdikoshvili. Law enforcement officers arrested the defendants on September 29. They were charged under Part 2 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentional less serious bodily harm, committed by a group), which provides for a sentence of 4 to 6 years in prison.
