99% of the business sector representatives in the country are donors to the Georgian Dream, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated in response to a question about the victory of the Georgian Dream donors in the tenders.
According to Kakha Kaladze, it is not surprising that today business supports the policy that the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia is implementing.
"Today, business is generally free in the country, this applies to absolutely all directions. Business, which was in Saakashvili's pocket and was under the greatest terror, is completely free today. Of course, business has a very big role in the fact that the country is developing, we are moving forward economically. Why are you surprised that the aforementioned companies, other representatives of the business sector are supporting the policy that the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia is implementing and that they are making donations, what is wrong with that? Look at how it happens in the USA, it is a normal process. It’s the same process, competition. Whoever presents the best proposal is the winner. 99% of the business sector representatives in the country are donors to the Georgian Dream. It is not a coincidence. You need to understand, analyze why? The answer is simple, I’ll tell you how it was when you were in power, if you understand this,” Kaladze addressed the journalist.
In turn, the journalist addressed the Tbilisi mayor, telling him that during the National Movement government, he himself was a supporter of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili, to which the Tbilisi mayor responded: “I was a supporter and also criticized what I did not like. I spoke about it openly. Unlike you, I am an absolutely free person, I have never been dependent on anyone, God gave me this opportunity and it was not difficult for me to express my views, good and bad. Business was in Saakashvili’s pocket, at 03:00 at night they would arrest businessmen, or those who were caught, take them out and bring them to notaries, make them sign papers and seize businesses. Today, business is completely free. Don’t be surprised that they [businessmen] support the policies that the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia is implementing.”
