Shalva Papuashvili - I agree with Fischer that in case of an attitude like his, our union with Europe will be difficult - Mr. Fischer's file is closed to us

I agree with Fischer that in case of an attitude like his, our union with Europe will be difficult - I would tell Fischer that they are either unwillingly or deliberately leaving it out - I don't know - the law on "Family Values", which is one of their main problems, - said the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, thus assessing the statements by the German Ambassador Peter Fischer.

According to him, "the factor hindering Georgia's integration into the European Union is the current bureaucracy in Brussels.

"It is important that Brussels and its attitudes change. Until Brussels does not start respecting our national interests, we will have difficulty in dealing with such people. The Soviet Union did not respect our national interests, so we ran away and now we are not going to be in a bureaucracy that will treat us exactly like the Soviet Union.

I agree with Fischer that in case of an attitude like his, our union with Europe will be difficult. The problem is that they also oppress the member states. What is their attitude towards Hungary - they do not take their interests into account. Poland may almost revolt because they are forcing gay marriage. You may not allow it by law, but they move to Germany on wedding tourism and sign papers there and then return and call themselves a family, and they demand a recognition. I would tell Fischer that they are either unwillingly or deliberately leaving it out - I don't know - the law on "Family Values", which is one of their main problems. Neither gay marriage nor recognition is allowed under our legislation," said Shalva Papuashvili.

Shalva Papuashvili also responded to the comments made by the German ambassador, which refers to the postponement of the November 21 meeting between Georgia and the European Union. According to Shalva Papuashvili, when the ambassador states that the meeting was postponed due to the presence of a sanctioned person in the delegation, this is a lie, because no state official is sanctioned by the European Union.

"It is a lie, when the ambassador lies, it is a very bad fact, because no state official is sanctioned by the European Union and this delegation was going to Brussels. I don't know why the ambassador needed to lie, saying that a person sanctioned by Brussels was in the delegation. No one is sanctioned by the European Union.

If Brussels is under British influence and follows what Estonia sys, why doesn't it do so in relation to Hungary? The petty, ignorant, and arrogant behavior that we see towards the Georgian people has unfortunately become a trademark of the Brussels bureaucracy and the German ambassador's statement is proof of this. How can we have common ground with such a Brussels?

It's a lie, Mr. Fischer's file is closed to us," said Shalva Papuashvili.
