A protest rally is underway on Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Parliament, one year after the start of the continuous protests.
Protest marches from the territories of the Public Broadcaster and Tbilisi State University have joined the demonstration ongoing in front of the legislative body. Rustaveli Avenue is blocked.
The demonstrators have brought banners with various contents: “Freedom to the prisoners of the regime", etc.
The appearance of the marchers was followed by ovations and shouts from the citizens.
"Until the end, until the end", - the participants of the rally are chanting.
After a year of continuous protest, the citizens voice their unchanged demands - to schedule new parliamentary elections and release those detained within the framework of the protests.
Police forces are mobilized near the Parliament.
Today one year has passed since Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that, according to the decision of the Georgian Dream, the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union will no longer be on the agenda until the end of 2028.
This statement was followed by a protest that has been going on for 366 days.
