Irakli Kobakhidze: The “Camite” substance was never used, not even during the “United National Movement” era

It can be emphatically stated that the substance “Camite” was not used, and even during the “United National Movement” period, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not acquire it, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said regarding the BBC investigative material.

According to him, the standards at BBC “have reached a minimum,” as otherwise it would be impossible to explain why the television company spreads lies of such scale.

“Of course, when an official investigation begins, there is a different kind of responsibility-legal responsibility-and spreading false information before an investigation is not in their interest. In this case, legal accountability for lies may apply. Therefore, what was lied about to the BBC cannot be repeated in the investigation, and they are forced to deny what they previously stated.BBC relies on statements from the father and son Chakhunashvili, which already says everything, and it spreads completely false information regarding the use of the substance ‘Camite.’Once again, it can be emphatically stated that the substance ‘Camite’ was not used, and even during the period of the ‘United National Movement,’ the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not acquire this substance. Therefore, it is very clear the scale of falsehood we are dealing with.It is very regrettable that BBC, once considered a media outlet of proper reputation, has now lowered its standards to the minimum; otherwise, it would be impossible to explain why such large-scale lies are being disseminated by this television company.”
