Salome Zurabishvili - The regime's policy affects everyone, oppresses everyone and blocks everyone's opportunities

The regime's policy affects everyone, oppresses everyone and blocks everyone's opportunities, - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, wrote on social media, responding to the statements of the Minister, Givi Mikanadze, regarding the planned reforms in the education system.

According to Salome Zurabishvili, the reforms announced by the Ministry will affect everyone, including the children of those who are in a privileged position today.

"Do not believe that your children will be protected by your current privileged positions tomorrow. They will also have to learn from the textbooks compiled by a commission created by the ministry, they will also be restricted from studying in higher education abroad (if Russia is not their ideal)... The isolation of the country will affect everyone's fate," - Salome Zurabishvili wrote.

For information, from 2026, the grant funding model will be abolished, after which the state will fully fund the tuition fees of students enrolled in state universities.

As for private universities, state funding will not be provided to students enrolled starting in 2026.

In addition, as the Minister of Education, Science and Youth stated, students who are already studying at higher education institutions will not be affected by the announced change.
