Irakli Kobakhidze on US National Security Strategy - The document talks about what we were talking about - the situation in the European Union is very difficult in terms of politics, democracy, human rights, media freedom and economics

The US National Security Strategy actually talks about what we have been talking about for the past years, what we are still talking about today, that today the European Union is in a very difficult situation in various directions, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at today's briefing.

According to the head of government, the trends are extremely difficult and this applies to both the change in the political situation, as well as in terms of democracy and human rights.

"Media freedom is one of the most striking examples. The BBC issue is also proof of this, that the situation in terms of media freedom is difficult throughout Europe, and from an economic point of view, Europe has very bad trends. This is once again expressed in this document. It is very important for us that these trends in Europe be stopped and changed in a positive direction, however, European structures, European bureaucracy, and the governments of specific European countries have lost sovereignty so much that it will be very difficult to turn this situation around, although we must at least retain hope for it," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
