ALDE on Aleko Elisashvili’s case: Of course we do not justify these actions, just as we will never justify violence or the use of chemical weapons against peaceful protesters

“Of course, ALDE does not justify these actions,” — this is how the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE Party) responded on X to the statement made by the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, regarding the case of “Lelo – For a Strong Georgia” member Aleko Elisashvili.

“Of course ALDE does not justify these actions — that is self-evident. Just as we will never justify violence against peaceful demonstrators or the use of chemical weapons against citizens,” ALDE wrote on the social platform X.

For reference, a few days ago Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, speaking about the case of Aleko Elisashvili, a member of “Lelo – For a Strong Georgia,” stated that there had been “no reaction from ALDE.”

“Ten days have passed since we witnessed a terrorist act committed by Aleko Elisashvili, and there has been no reaction from ALDE. We take it as a fact that ALDE is an association collaborating with a terrorist,” Papuashvili said.
