Informal influences are very relevant throughout the European Union, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
As the Prime Minister noted, it is precisely the result of informal influences that are the cause of absurd decisions and statements made in relation to Georgia.
“Today, what we see in the European Union, when they, among others, make absurd decisions and statements in relation to Georgia, all this is the result of informal influences. What we have been saying all this time, is being repeated by specific people from the United States of America. You should probably all think about this,” the head of government said.
According to him, the US administration is repeating exactly the same thing that the Georgian government has been claiming all these years and “only now has it become convincing to some subjects.”
According to him, the Georgian government hopes that these trends will turn positive.
"For the past few years, we have had to assert the simple truth regarding the trends that we clearly saw across the European Union. Do you remember the criticism that came about this, that we were declared a pro-Russian government because we spoke about these trends? Today, the current US administration is talking about the same thing. It is repeating exactly the same thing that we have been arguing about all these years, and only now has what we were talking about before with concrete arguments and facts become convincing to some subjects. This is the current reality, the trends in the European Union are serious, and we remain hopeful that these trends will turn positive. Let's see how the processes develop," the Prime Minister said.
