Irakli Kobakhidze - The European bureaucracy has now remembered the principle of sovereignty, that no one from the outside should interfere in the internal affairs of others - Ursula von der Leyen's statement shows double standards

They have now remembered the principle of sovereignty, that no one from the outside should interfere in the internal affairs of others, however, the European bureaucracy has been violating this very principle of sovereignty against us on a daily basis, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Turkmenistan in response to the statement of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

According to the Prime Minister, Ursula von der Leyen's statement shows double standards.

"Today, the US administration is assessing the processes taking place in Europe in exactly the same way as we have been doing in recent years, which the European bureaucracy does not like. They have now remembered the principle of sovereignty, that no one from the outside should interfere in the internal affairs of others, however, the European bureaucracy has been violating this very principle of sovereignty against us on a daily basis. Double standards are evident. The current US administration is accurately assessing the processes taking place in the European Union, and our assessment has been the same all these years," the Prime Minister said.

For information, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in an interview with POLITICO, in response to a question about the US national security strategy, that "Donald Trump should not interfere in European democracy."
