Shalva Papuashvili on Marta Kos - She has no idea what the Georgian people want –let them give up this attitude that someone is a superman and someone is a sub-man

Marta Kos, as far as I know, has not been to Georgia and has no idea what the Georgian people want, she does not understand what the Georgian people want - all foreigners who speak on behalf of the Georgian people are not friends of the Georgian people, - the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, said in response to the statement of the European Commissioner Marta Kos, who expressed hope that the Georgian government, with the support of people, will return to the European path.z

According to Papuashvili, the Georgian people have neither given legitimacy nor the right to speak on their behalf to Marta Kos. As the Speaker of the Parliament noted, speaking to the Georgian people from a moral pedestal and with a guardianship attitude is a red line to which the Georgian government will always react.

“This is the Marta Kos, whose party ALDE collaborates with a terrorist. Until ALDE and Ms. Kos do not distance themselves from the terrorist, all their words are frivolous. To this day, ALDE is a party that collaborates with a terrorist and whose comrade-in-arms is a terrorist, so when we are dealing with a European Commissioner who is a member of a party that collaborates with a terrorist, we cannot seriously discuss this issue.

One red line that the Georgian people must once again show Brussels is the attempted guardianship attitude that they have towards Georgia. Ms. Kos’ statement also stated that the Georgian government should listen to the Georgian people. As far as I know, the only time when Marta Kos was in Georgia was when she flew over us and visited Armenia and Baku. As far as I know, she has not been to Georgia. I want to say that Ms. Kos has no idea what the Georgian people want, she does not understand what the Georgian people want. When a Brussels bureaucrat allows herself to speak to the government of the Georgian people from such a moral pedestal and with a patronizing attitude, this is disrespect for the Georgian people, considering us as inferior people, as if we Georgians cannot govern ourselves, elect our own government and have representatives of our interests in power. This is the most dangerous path that the European bureaucracy is taking. I have spoken about this several times, although I must say that all this is not enough and they still continue to make this appeal, which is why I will pay special attention to this issue from today. Every foreigner who speaks on behalf of the Georgian people is not a friend of the Georgian people, but a person who thinks that the Georgian people are somehow inferior to him!” - Papuashvili said.

According to him, one phrase of Ms. Kos that the government should listen to the people, means that “they are abolishing us as an independent country, as a nation, as a state, as a people that has its sovereignty, that has fought for its sovereignty, so we will not allow anyone to do this! Let them give up this attitude that someone is a superman and someone is a sub-man!”

For information, European Commissioner Marta Kos expressed hope that the Georgian government will return to the European path. According to her, they will continue to support civil society and independent media to tell the government that they are wrong.
