According to Tina Bokuchava, the chairwoman of the United National Movement, signing of the Convention establishing the International Claims Commission for Ukraine by Maka Botchorishvili means that "Bidzina Ivanishvili is bargaining."
As Bokuchava believes, "against the backdrop of the chemical weapons crime," Ivanishvili desperately needed to appear in a positive light on the international arena.
“What the signing of the Convention establishing the International International Claims Commission for Ukraine by Maka Botchorishvili mean for Ukraine, after just the regime, just a few months ago, completely shamefully did not support the special tribunal established in Strasbourg under the auspices of the Council of Europe for Russian war crimes against Ukraine, for which President Zelensky came to PACE in Strasbourg: this means only one thing - Bidzina is bargaining.
Against the backdrop of the chemical weapons crime, he desperately needed to appear in a positive light on the international arena. Supporting Ukraine in an international legal form was the best opportunity to do so.
We must not forget that just like Putin, who “negotiates” during the day and bombs civilian targets at night, Ivanishvili will continue to poison and capture us until he realizes that the West is not going to make any “deals” with him. But today's step is yet another proof that it is trading with the West," Bokuchava said.
34 countries and the European Union established an International Claims Commission for Ukraine. Georgia also joined it, and the convention was signed by Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
