Mikheil Saakashvili - We have achieved the impossible and were the first to prove in the former empire that life is much better without Russia - I will not give up and I will fight until your and my victory

We have achieved the impossible and were the first to prove in the former empire that life is much better without Russia, so we have been hit by the full force of the propaganda machine, which has convinced a large part of Georgians that 9 years of success and rapid progress turned out to be a violent regime, - the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, writes on social networks.

The former president promises that he will not break, will not give up and will fight until victory.

In a letter posted on his social network, Mikheil Saakashvili talks about the decisions made during his political career and says that he is infinitely grateful for the support of the Georgian nation, as well as his supporters in Ukraine and the world, whose support has kept him going so far.

“In 1995, I left a successful career as a lawyer at a leading New York law firm. I left my apartment near Central Park and returned to the dangerous, cold Georgia from which everyone was fleeing.

There I created a foundation and, starting in 2003, together with my comrades, we led the country out of a completely hopeless situation, turning it into an example for the whole world.

In 2008, Russia, which could not forgive us for proving the possibility of a successful existence without it, attacked us. Just like Zelensky in 2022, in 2008, I also refused to leave Georgia, despite the threat of death from Putin himself, and we saved Georgia.

In 2012, I without hesitation respected the (in my opinion, wrong) decision of the majority of the Georgian people and handed over power completely peacefully.

In 2021, I left the extremely comfortable life in Ukraine, which has become my second homeland since my youth, and I came here at great risk to my life, because I wanted to awaken Georgians ahead of approaching great catastrophe.

When I entered this prison in 2021, I was 53 years old, today I am already 58 years old. Anyone who wants to give me something, contact Nanuka Zhorzholiani and transfer even a small amount to the accounts of other political prisoners through her, I do not need help at this stage.

I cannot help but say that the conformist part of Georgians (and this is a serious percentage) ignored the unjust accusations brought against me, my imprisonment, poisoning, torture, and now they are completely adapting to all this.

As I have already said - we managed to do the impossible and were the first to prove in the space of the former empire that life is much better without Russia, so we were hit by the full power of their propaganda machine and a large part of Georgians was made to believe that 9 years of success and rapid progress turned out to be a violent regime that was busy torturing its own people.

At the same time, many Georgians did not succumb to this propaganda narrative, I remember, they support me, some even followed my situation with concern. I am infinitely grateful to this part of the nation, your support, as well as the support of my supporters scattered throughout Ukraine and the world, has kept me going so far.

I will not break, I will not give in and I will fight until your and my victory. We will definitely build our magnificent city - Lazika!

Glory to freedom! Glory to Ukraine!", - Saakashvili wrote on Facebook.
