One of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Zura Japaridze, says that as a result of meetings with opposition politicians and political actors, he plans to voice a coordinated position on a common strategy and plans next week.
As he stated, his goal is to create a united front.
“I have a schedule of meetings that is not yet finalized. Because more people are being added. I already had several meetings on Saturday. Today I have an extended meeting within the coalition. Tomorrow I have 5 meetings, including a meeting with Salome Zurabishvili and representatives of several parties. On Saturday, I will resume meetings again and meet with all those people who are involved in the protests and who are doing something. I want to talk to everyone. I have certain ideas about what needs to be done, I just don’t want to talk about it publicly. Decency requires me to meet with these people, listen to them and reconcile everyone’s views. My goal is ultimately to create a united front, but it should not be a front where we only stand together for you to see us. An agreement is important on a specific strategy. There is already agreement on a general strategy: non-cooperation, external pressure and protest. It's just that what steps should be taken in this direction specifically and how can any citizen measure what parties, civil activists, non-governmental organizations are doing, we understand whether we are moving forward or not, we are getting stuck in one place, we are getting stronger, or we are not getting stronger, this progress should be visible in some way. Therefore, I think that we need to agree on a more detailed strategy. That is what is important, what is missing from this common struggle. I want to publicly state on Monday or Tuesday, in my opinion, what needs to be done. It will not go beyond Sunday," Japaridze said.
