Irakli Kobakhidze - I have information that Kakhi Kaladze had no connection with Kakha Gvantseladze's case

According to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, had no connection with the case of Kakha Gvantseladze, the former director of the Tbilisi City Hall Kindergarten Management Agency.

“I have information that Kakhi Kaladze had no connection with this fact. It is possible to detect specific crimes, for example, in a specific state enterprise, which may also be related to the period when I was Prime Minister, but I may not know anything about it. As soon as we found out, we immediately got involved. If there is corruption, it should be detected first. This is our approach. All state agencies should work with the same approach,” Kobakhidze said.

For information, the former head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, was arrested a few days ago. He is accused of taking bribes in several criminal cases.

According to the prosecutor's office, in exchange for taking a bribe, Grigol Liluashvili provided protection to his friend, the former director of the Tbilisi City Hall’s Kindergarten Management Agency, Kakha Gvantseladze, who received particularly large amounts of bribes from business entities for signing procurement contracts for kindergartens.

According to the investigative agency, Kakhaber Gvantseladze involved the agency's financial accounting and calculation, as well as monitoring employees in the aforementioned criminal scheme of Liluashvili-Gvantseladze. A decree has been issued against all of them to bring them to criminal liability as defendants.
