The successes we have had in recent years, not only in sports, are not accidental - this is the result of the policy that the Georgian Dream is implementing, - the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, said in his speech at the annual event of the Georgian Football Federation - GFF Awards 2025.
According to him, "peace in the country brings the country's development, economic prosperity."
"It is indeed a very important day in terms of remembering what has been done in the field of football over the past ten years. I would start from the fact that the situation in the country is very important. We talk a lot about peace, about the challenges that are around the world today, we talk about the challenges that we have inside and outside the country, but the policy that our team - the Georgian Dream - is implementing is aimed at protecting the interests of our country, protecting peace, maintaining calm. Why is peace important? Peace brings the country's development, economic prosperity; All the successes we have had in recent years, not only in football, in sports, are not accidental. Nothing happens by accident. This is the result of the policy that the Georgian Dream is implementing,” said Kakha Kaladze.
As Kaladze noted, all conditions have been created by both the Football Federation and the government in general for a football player to focus only on football.
“I would like to thank all the athletes, each football player for the success that they brought to our country, for the joy that they gave to the Georgian people. We all remember those wonderful moments when the whole of Georgia was tearful and happy about our team’s participation in the European Championship. How happy we were. I am sure that we will have many more successes in the coming years. I would like to thank the President of the Football Federation Levan Kobiashvili, his team, and each employee of the Federation, because with the right management we got the result that we have been waiting for for so long. For the first time in history, the Georgian national team has participated in the European Championship, and this is a great merit of yours. I am very glad that today a football player who is a member of the Georgian national team comes to play for the national team, thinking only about one thing - how to reveal his best abilities. All conditions have been created by both the Football Federation and the government in general, so that the football player can only care about football,” - said Kakha Kaladze.
Kaladze thanked the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, for his “special love for sports.”
“I would like to express my special gratitude to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, for his special love for sports and football. This support is felt in everything - in the work done, in future projects, which is very important for Georgian football and for sports in general. I would like to congratulate you on the upcoming Christmas and New Year, wish peace to our country and the whole world, prosperity to each citizen of our country, and many more successes and victories in sports,” - said the Mayor of Tbilisi.
