This is how Gia Volski, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, commented on the fact that former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze has been charged in connection with the murder of Levan Jangveladze.
According to Volski, Partskhaladze is now implicated in a crime, which does not suit the opposition, because, he says, they want to claim that “the authorities protected Partskhaladze” and that “he is a bridge between Putin and Bidzina Ivanishvili.”
“Otar Partskhaladze held high positions for a certain period and then no longer did. Therefore, we must conclude that a period came when the authorities decided that Partskhaladze should no longer work in the position he held. Opposition representatives or our critics have nothing to do with this. Processes are happening in Georgia and worldwide, and our opponents have created a parallel universe - they make conclusions, explain, interpret, and so on. If, regarding a certain position, their statements coincidentally align with the facts and processes, they assume everything follows from their statements - but that is not the case. In the world, in the region, and in the state, reality is different. He is implicated in a crime, and of course, this does not suit our opponents, because they want to claim that the authorities protected him, that he is a bridge between Putin and Bidzina Ivanishvili, and so on. Their arguments are effectively nullified.
It has been revealed that [Partskhaladze] is guilty - at least the facts exist, and the appropriate measures are being taken,” Volski stated.
For reference, former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze has been charged in connection with the murder of Levan Jangveladze. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Darakhvelidze stated at a briefing that the Jangveladze murder case has been fully solved.
