Archil Gorduladze: Unrealistically high prices require an appropriate response; Parliament will not hesitate to amend legislation if needed

According to Archil Gorduladze, a member of the “Georgian Dream” party, a parliamentary commission will also be established to address food prices.

Gorduladze emphasized that if legislative changes are necessary, “Parliament will not hesitate to act.”

He noted that the current food prices pose a challenge for the people of Georgia and require an adequate response.

“To address this challenge, the Prime Minister has proposed an initiative, which our team fully supports. This issue will be considered both within the government - executive - format and the parliamentary format. A corresponding commission will be established to ensure an appropriate response to the existing challenge. Unrealistically high prices, which are significantly higher than in neighboring EU member states, require a proper response.

If legislative changes are necessary, Parliament will not hesitate to act. Our team is always ready to respond promptly to the needs of the population. The key is to maintain peace in the country and economic growth potential, which will allow steps to be taken to address the everyday needs of each individual,” Gorduladze stated.

For reference, a government Coordinating Commission on food prices has already been established, chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
