There is nothing new for us in what has been revealed in Venezuela today, we saw this a long time ago and correctly assessed it - the operation that took a few minutes in Venezuela confirmed that the European Union, as a guarantor of international order and a global geopolitical player, no longer exists and, it seems, it will never act as such again, - the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, writes on the social network.

As Papuashvili notes, in parallel with the events in Venezuela, "we again saw a group of people who first yearn for Maidan, then Nepal, and now Venezuela."

According to him, “this is a group of people who love someone else’s flag, who have lost hope in the support of people, cling to the hope of external forces, and dream of “democracy bombs” and “liberalism missiles.”

“The two main tasks of the Georgian government are unchanged: restoring the territorial integrity of the country and ensuring the well-being of the Georgian people. There is no place for political sentiments and illusions in the struggle for territorial integrity. A state and government that does not recognize the territorial integrity of Georgia can never be a friend of the Georgian people - this is a fundamental truth.

For small states like Georgia, international law has always been the main weapon and shield, but the reality is that its place and influence are irreversibly decreasing. Finally, what we were saying has been confirmed - the international order established after World War II no longer exists.

There is nothing new for us in what was revealed in Venezuela today. We have correctly assessed this. This is the historical advantage of ancient nations. We have endured similar “international orders” for millennia, gone through numerous geopolitical cataclysms and found our own way of survival. It is this knowledge that has preserved our statehood when others have disappeared. Even today, our task remains unchanged - not to damage the state in the storm thrown up by the great powers and to bring it safely to a safe harbor.

Global events bring another important result to our society - they finally unmask. As before, today they are the best provocateur of lustration.

These days we have again seen a group of people who first yearn for Maidan, then Nepal, and now Venezuela. This is a group of people who love someone else's flag, who have lost hope in the support of people, cling to external forces like moss and dream of "democracy bombs" and "liberalism missiles." The democratically defeated can only hope for one scenario of gaining power - coming to power through external intervention and violence. History has given such crooked Georgians - the Liparites, the Korganashvilis, the Ordzhonikidzes - their names, and society has given our modern crooked people their rightful place.

Finally, the operation in Venezuela, which lasted a few minutes, also confirmed that the European Union, as a guarantor of international order and a global geopolitical player, no longer exists and, it seems, will never become such again. Moreover, it turned out that Brussels, when necessary, will not hesitate to benefit from the disruption of the world order and even use it as a pretext. Brussels’ actions towards Georgia in violation of international law are also good proof of this.

The international storm that erupted in the first days of January, which, it seems, is only gathering strength, has further strengthened our plan for 2026 - not to deviate from the policy of peace and not to get involved in other people's scenarios.

Behind us are the people who want peace and prosperity in an independent and unified Georgia. Every word and action of the crooked Georgians who glorify foreigners only confirms that only the Georgian Dream can achieve this goal, and no one and nothing can distract us from this goal,” Papuashvili writes.
