The US withdrawal from 66 organizations confirms that the international order created after World War II, which includes various international organizations, membership in them and discussion of issues within these organizations, no longer exists and is broken - when America is not a member of such organizations, it shows that their seriousness has already been damaged, - the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists, responding to the US decision to withdraw from 66 organizations, including the Venice Commission.

According to him, the US today confirmed that "the Venice Commission has turned into a political commentator, which makes opinions and conclusions based on the political agenda."

"The US has left 66 organizations, as they announced yesterday. This in itself confirms once again what we are saying, that the international order created after World War II, of which various international organizations are a part, membership in them and discussion of issues within these organizations, no longer exists, has been violated. When America is not a member of such organizations and says that they are useless, money-wasting organizations, it shows that their seriousness has already been damaged and it confirms once again what we were saying, that the international order no longer exists.

As for the Venice Commission specifically, we have been talking for some time now that the Venice Commission has become a political weapon against countries, in order to impose various instruments or institutions based on various political agendas on countries. This has been very clearly demonstrated in relation to Georgia on many occasions, when instead of legal conclusions and opinions, we saw political conclusions and opinions, which are clearly evident in the reports of the Venice Commission and what we have said to the Venice Commission during our meetings. We are a member of the Council of Europe, the Venice Commission is one of the institutions of the Council of Europe, and for us as a member state it is worrying that the Venice Commission has changed its profile and instead of compiling professional legal opinions, which were respected and important for all countries, has turned into an ordinary political commentator, which makes various opinions and conclusions based on the political agenda. This was confirmed today by the USA, which left the membership of the Venice Commission and left with the justification that it is a useless, money-wasting organization. This, of course, strengthens our opinion that the Venice Commission has missed the original mission that was invested in it,” Papuashvili said.

"President Trump announced that the United States is leaving 66 anti-American, useless, or wasteful international organizations," US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on social media. According to Rubio, discussions are ongoing regarding other international organizations.
