It is a mockery of the Georgian people when they talk as if Ukraine and Moldova are ahead of Georgia in some objective way - they are actually ahead in hugging the Brussels bureaucracy, we are really no better at that. They hug because they fulfill all the tasks that unelected bureaucrats give them, - the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists.
According to Papuashvili, when European bureaucrats talk about Georgia “falling behind” Moldova and Ukraine in specific criteria, “they do not care at all that they are throwing such lies directly in the eyes of the Georgian people.”
“In general, we see anti-Georgian rhetoric from the EU and Brussels institutions, which is very sad. We often hear attacks on the Georgian people, on their right to choose their own government. We saw direct intervention by Brussels in order to change the government in Georgia from the outside. Both before the parliamentary elections, when the EU ambassador was involved in the election campaign in violation of international law, and in supporting the October 4 coup, when it was known in advance that Nepal was to be organized in Georgia. The European Commission’s spokesperson supported the organization of this Nepal. To this day, no EU member has apologized to the Georgian people for the support that the European Commission, in principle, expressed to the organizers of the Nepal scenario, through the European Commission’s spokesperson.
As for Ukraine and Moldova. I will not say anything about the injustice in this context, in comparison. This is simply a mockery of the Georgian people. This is a mockery of the Georgian people when they talk as if Ukraine and Moldova are ahead of Georgia in some objective way. Of course, they are ahead in hugging the Brussels bureaucracy. We are not better. They hug because they fulfill all the tasks that unelected bureaucrats give. We are not better in this. However, we are better in all other parameters. We are better in economic development, democratic institutions.
As for the media, there is total control in Ukraine. There is a similar situation in Moldova. Those media outlets that are critical of the government have problems. Not to mention corruption.
Every European bureaucrat who says that Georgia is behind Ukraine and Moldova in some way is simply mocking the Georgian people in that they say unfair things. They are not worried that such a lie is being thrown directly into the eyes of the Georgian people, which is a mockery of the Georgian people," Papuashvili said.
