The EU’s foreign policy today is a symbol of unprofessionalism, writes Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.
As he notes, the EU’s foreign policy is increasingly moving away from the interests of the European peoples.
“It was clear from the very beginning what the EU’s foreign policy would lead to when a prime minister was appointed as its highest foreign representative, whose foreign minister, in violation of international law, delivers a speech at an anti-government rally of radicals in another country.
The EU’s foreign policy today is a symbol of unprofessionalism and is increasingly moving away from the interests of the European peoples,” writes Papuashvili.
With this post, Shalva Papuashvili responded to the statement of the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, who said that Europe is facing a “deep crisis.”
“The European Union has never been in such danger. It has never been so weakened. Europe has never been so helpless. Europe has never been so divided,” Fico said.
He said the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, should step down.
“We must replace Ms Kallas,” he said, noting that her leadership had significantly hampered the EU’s ability to respond effectively to contemporary challenges or to formulate a coherent position on current international issues.
