During the trial, the judge asked Irakli Gharibashvili whether he admitted to the charges brought against him, to which Mr. Irakli replied that yes, sir. He admitted to the charges brought against him - he was arrested right in the hall and is currently, presumably, on his way to the penitentiary institution, - Mikheil Shakulashvili, the lawyer of former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, told journalists.

As the lawyer explained after the trial, the former Prime Minister was summoned to his trial at the Tbilisi City Court today at 3:00 PM.

“During the trial, the judge asked, as he does with all defendants, whether he would admit to the charges brought against him, to which Mr. Irakli replied that yes, sir. He admitted to the charges brought against him.

At 15:00 we were summoned to appear in the court. We arrived at the appropriate time and place. I really didn't look at the hall number, which hall I entered and exited. The prosecutor, judge, lawyer and defendant were there. Yes, sir, they arrested him right in the hall and is currently, presumably, on the way to the penitentiary institution,” said Mikheil Shakulashvili.
