Irakli Kobakhidze - Without the Black Sea submarine cable project, it would be difficult to fully utilize our energy resources - we are pleased that the European Commission has included this project in its list of priorities

We consider the Black Sea submarine cable project to be a transformational project. Without the implementation of this project, it would be difficult for us to fully utilize our energy resources, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during his speech at the Leaders' Dialogue held within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Week, the main theme of which was "Middle Corridor and the role of energy in connecting Europe and Asia".

According to the Prime Minister, this is a jointly interesting project through which Georgia will increase its productivity in the direction of generation.

"We consider the Black Sea submarine cable project to be a transformational project. It is a very ambitious and realistic project. We have conducted a feasibility study. This project is technically feasible, therefore, we are very optimistic about this direction. The Black Sea cable is 1,155 kilometers long and will connect Georgia with the European energy market. In particular, through South-Eastern Europe, Romania. We will increase our productivity in the generation direction and will have electricity generated for export. We will also enter other markets in Europe. Without the implementation of this project, it would be difficult for us to fully utilize our energy resources. Therefore, we attach great importance to this project and are glad that the European Commission has included this project in its list of priorities. This is a project of common interest and we are even more optimistic about the implementation of this project," the Prime Minister said.
