Vika Pilpani: One year since the attack on Giorgi Gakharia - he is the only one from “Georgian Dream” who openly confronted Ivanishvili and did not surrender

“One year has passed since a physical attack was carried out against Giorgi Gakharia at Batumi’s Sheraton Hotel on the order of Bidzina Ivanishvili. It is clear that no one has been held accountable for this - moreover, to our regret, law enforcement agencies themselves were involved in destroying evidence of this crime,” said Vika Pilpani, one of the leaders of the For Georgia party and a member of parliament.

According to her, the video recordings from the security cameras of the Sheraton Batumi are still being concealed.

“I would also remind you that one month after this attack, Giorgi Gakharia was attacked a second time at Tbilisi International Airport.

Ultimately, Ivanishvili’s public order resulted in two absurd criminal cases being launched against Giorgi Gakharia.

As Ivanishvili himself publicly admits, Gakharia is his ‘unhealed wound’ and is the only politician he has personally and publicly threatened with punishment. However, despite everything, Gakharia is the only one who did not surrender to Ivanishvili and the only politician from ‘Georgian Dream’ who openly confronted him.

Ivanishvili, and anyone else, must know that he will not escape responsibility for his actions, including those committed against Georgia’s national interests and the Georgian people,” Vika Pilpani stated.
