Irakli Kobakhidze: A USD 150 million investment will be made to expand the airport, significantly increasing its capacity and substantially improving the quality of passenger services

“Today is a very important day. We are signing an agreement with the French company Groupe ADP on the expansion of Tbilisi International Airport,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze while speaking at the presentation of the Tbilisi International Airport expansion project.

According to the Prime Minister, a USD 150 million investment will be made for the airport’s expansion, which will ensure an increase in passenger traffic, continuous improvement of services, the creation of a comfortable and safe environment for passengers, fast and efficient operational processes, and the introduction of a modern passenger experience that meets international standards.

“Under the agreement, TAV, a company owned by Groupe ADP, will continue managing the airport for an additional five years, until the end of 2031, until the completion of the construction of the new Tbilisi International Airport in Vaziani. A USD 150 million investment will be made to expand the airport, which will significantly increase its capacity and, at the same time, substantially improve the quality of passenger services. The investment will ensure growth in passenger flow, continuous service improvement, the creation of a comfortable and safe environment for passengers, fast and efficient operational processes, and the introduction of a modern passenger experience in line with international standards. I would like to extend special thanks to our foreign partners, Groupe ADP and TAV, for many years of fruitful cooperation in the development of Georgia’s airports,” the Prime Minister stated.
