Irakli Kobakhidze: I extend my sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic train accident in Spain

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in a railway disaster in Spain. The head of government commented on the tragedy on the social media platform X.

“I extend my sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic train accident in Spain.Our thoughts are with the injured and with the Spanish people at this difficult time,” Irakli Kobakhidze wrote.

For reference, a high-speed train traveling from Málaga to Madrid derailed in southern Spain and collided with an oncoming train. As a result of the railway disaster, 39 people were killed.

According to the railway network, around 400 passengers and staff members were on board both trains. Emergency services reported that at least 73 people were taken to hospitals.
