I looked at the weather forecast for Washington and it is sunny, without precipitation, and it seems that there is probably a slight wind blowing in some places of Washington, maybe the weather is bad at that place, - this is how the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, responded to the postponement of the Helsinki Commission’s briefing on the situation in Georgia due to weather conditions.
In addition, as Papuashvili noted, the Helsinki Commission is discrediting itself by inviting Donald Trump’s enemy Laura Thornton as a “witness”.
"I can't say why the meeting was called, or why it was postponed, but one thing was obvious - when President Trump's enemy, Laura Thornton, who calls him a sexual abuser, is invited to testify, I think, first of all, the Helsinki Commission is discrediting itself with this fact. You invite Ms. Thornton, who has fabricated lies against the US President, as a witness, therefore, this shows how serious her credibility can be for Congress. When Republican members of the Helsinki Commission invite President Trump's enemy as a witness, this already shows that they do not understand the issues, who they are talking to and who they are dealing with," Papuashvili said.
The Helsinki Commission’s briefing on the situation in Georgia has been postponed due to weather conditions.
“The briefing has been postponed due to weather conditions,” reads the statement.
For information, a briefing on the situation in Georgia was scheduled for January 28 at the Helsinki Commission. The briefing, titled “Georgian Dream’s Growing Suppression of Dissent,” was announced for January 28 at 11:00 p.m. Tbilisi time.
