Nothing but fighting the regime with all methods and personal sacrifice will save us, - reads an address by the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, which is posted on his Facebook page.
Saakashvili calls on citizens not to be afraid of participating in protests, arrests, raids or physical attacks.
According to Saakashvili, it is their individual sacrifice that will save each person and the country.
"Now every normal Georgian is faced with a dilemma: either to save himself - to go into internal emigration, i.e. to not notice anything, to accept the constantly deteriorating rules of the game and continue living here, or to go into external emigration, to turn over the Georgian page in his and his children's lives, or to decide that he is ready to sacrifice himself and to fight the regime to the end. I chose the latter, despite my very comfortable and valued life in Ukraine. Now, more than ever, I believe that it is the individual sacrifice of each person and the country that will save each person and the country. Apart from fighting this regime by all methods and personal dedication, nothing else will save us. Georgia needs heroes not just in books. Now is the time to prove that the history we have learned is not invented and that we are truly worthy of existence. What does personal courage and dedication mean, I offer you an advice: The first step - do not be afraid to speak out your position in public, publish and like posts on social networks. Do not be afraid of the glare of relatives, employees, and their reprimands. The second step - do not be afraid to participate in protests, despite the risk of losing your job and income. The third step - do not be afraid of arrest, raids, or physical attacks. The fourth step - do not be afraid to risk your life and health for your homeland and your children, as the highest form of self-sacrifice. I have gone through all four steps and I urge you to do the same. Without this, we will lose our country and our future," Saakashvili wrote on the social network.
