Prime Minister: I am ready to hold debates with anyone on any topic, including education - I would deliberately sit down with exactly those people who call themselves experts; let them come

“I am ready to sit down with anyone and hold debates on any topic, including education,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on the program Imedi’s Week.

According to the head of government, this is precisely how he envisions debates that could begin in the media space.

Kobakhidze stated that he is ready to debate with those who “sharply criticize the reform, even without substantive arguments.”

“If we take education reform, I would gladly and deliberately sit down with exactly those people who call themselves experts. Some may be real experts from my perspective, some may not be, but I am ready to sit down and debate with everyone on any topic, including education. Let those people come who, for example, sharply criticize this reform on social media, in the media, or in any other space - even without substance. Let them come; I am ready for discussion with such people. This is exactly the format in which I imagine debates that could start in the media space.

At a time when, especially, the process of weakening radicals is ongoing, we must take care to foster healthy discussion in society, and that is what the initiative we put forward was dedicated to,” the Prime Minister said.
