Irakli Kobakhidze - The technical direction at the Georgian Technical University has become a stepson, this must be changed - we want to restore TSU to the state in which it was created by Javakhishvili

The technical direction at the Georgian Technical University has become a stepson, this must be changed, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated.

As Irakli Kobakhidze noted, the Polytechnic Institute was a kind of child of TSU and "it must be restored as Ivane Javakhishvili conceived it."

"43% are technical directions, and 57% are law, economics, agrarian and other disciplines, which have no connection with the disciplines that had been taught at the Georgian Polytechnic Institute. This is simple statistics. I can repeat once again that the technical direction at the Georgian Technical University has become a stepson, this must be changed. At one time, it was a kind of child of Tbilisi State University, this is how it was created, as one of the faculties, and this situation must be restored. As Ivane Javakhishvili conceived, it must be restored. He was prevented from taking care of the development of the university, rectors appointed along Bolshevik lines replaced Ivane Javakhishvili as the Tbilisi rector and after him everything messed up. We want to restore the situation at TSU, which was created by Ivane Javakhishvili," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
