This is a very important forum dedicated to real estate issues, and holding this international forum in Georgia is yet another proof that Georgia is firmly establishing its place on the regional investment map, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his speech at the International Real Estate Forum.
According to him, despite serious global and regional difficulties, Georgia has managed to maintain a high rate of economic growth, and the Georgian government will do everything to maintain this trend.
“Despite the fact that we had very serious global and regional difficulties, Georgia managed to maintain a high rate of economic growth. Over the past 5 years, Georgia has taken first place on the European continent and in the region in terms of economic growth. In 2021-2025, the average economic growth rate of our country reached 9.3%. I would like to emphasize once again that this is the number one indicator on our continent. We are also pleased that, according to the forecast of the International Monetary Fund, Georgia will also take first place in terms of economic growth among the countries of the region and Europe in the medium term. It is our duty to contribute to maintaining the established trend as much as possible, and the Georgian government will do everything for this,” the Prime Minister said.
In addition, according to Kobakhidze, “the real estate sector occupies a special place in economic growth, and last year the real economic growth in the real estate sector exceeded 10 percent.”
As the Head of Government noted, record figures were recorded in the direction of income from international tourism.
“All this is facilitated by the general environment that has been established in our country, we have an appropriate investment environment, we have a liberal economic policy, we have low taxes, which naturally creates an incentive for economic activity in Georgia, and in terms of low corruption, Georgia is one of the leading countries with this indicator. We are in first place in the region and are ahead of about 10 EU countries. Naturally, all this contributes to maintaining an appropriate environment in our country. Georgia also occupies a high place in international ratings. I would single out the World Bank’s rating of readiness for business, the so-called B-READY, where Georgia is one of the leaders and takes fourth place among 101 countries in the world,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to him, the general trends that have been established in Georgia in terms of economic growth are directly proportional to the dynamics of the real estate sector.
"This is one of the most important sectors in our economy, which creates new jobs and promotes the development of infrastructure. This sector also plays an important role in attracting foreign direct investment. I would like to separately mention a very important investment project, the implementation of which has begun in our country, this is an unprecedented investment project of the largest development company Eagle Hills, the total volume of which is 6.6 billion dollars. The entry of such a large-scale investor into our country confirms the general confidence in our economic policy and the environment that has been formed in Georgia. This specific investment alone will enrich the Georgian economy by approximately 11 billion GEL, which speaks for itself.
We have clear plans in the direction of economic policy and promoting economic growth. One of our main tasks is to promote the development of Georgia's connectivity and transit function, for which large investments are being made. Large-scale construction is planned in this direction. This, of course, will contribute to accelerating the pace of economic growth of the country. I would like to once again wish you fruitful discussions. I would like to emphasize once again the importance of this forum for our country. I would like to thank the business association and each of the organizers of the forum for organizing this forum. I am sure that this forum will contribute to an even greater increase in economic activity in Georgia,” the Prime Minister said.
