Irakli Kobakhidze meeting with Rector and Professors of GTU at the Government Administration

A meeting between Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the Rector and professors of GTU is underway at the Government Administration.

The issue of the unification of the Georgian Technical and Tbilisi State Universities will be discussed at the meeting.

As GTU Rector David Gurgenidze stated before the meeting, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will be informed of the decision of the University's Academic Council regarding the unification of the universities.

"We are going to the Prime Minister, with whom there will be a dialogue. We will present the decision of the University's Academic Council," - said David Gurgenidze.

In addition to the Rector of GTU, David Gurgenidze, professors and teachers are also attending the meeting. The Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze is also present at the meeting.

For information, the government made a decision to merge TSU and GTU. Both university professors and students disagree with the decision. They have already held a meeting with the Minister of Education.
