The 2026 budget is planned based on 5% economic growth, but we believe that this target will once again be exceeded this year. According to conservative estimates, Georgia’s economy in 2026 is expected to reach 114 billion GEL, with GDP per capita surpassing 11,000 USD, stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
He emphasized that the government’s goals are even more ambitious, and one reason for optimism is the significant reforms implemented in the country over the past few months.
“Last year’s economic growth data has been summarized, and we have preliminary figures. Last year, economic growth reached 7.5%, higher than the initial projections provided by the International Monetary Fund, and we even exceeded the revised forecast, which is very important. For the first time in history, Georgia’s economy exceeded 100 billion GEL by the end of last year, and per capita income surpassed 10,000 USD for the first time. At the end of last year, our economy totaled 104 billion GEL.
As for 2026, the budget is based on 5% economic growth, but we believe we will exceed this target again. According to conservative estimates, Georgia’s economy will reach 114 billion GEL in 2026, with GDP per capita exceeding 11,000 USD. However, as I said, our goals are even more ambitious, and one of the reasons for our optimism is the significant reforms carried out in our country over the past few months, particularly within the Ministry of Economy and state-owned enterprises. All of this allows us to make even more optimistic projections regarding economic growth,” the Prime Minister stated.
