As the Prime Minister notes, in total, the contribution of foreign students to the Georgian economy is GEL 1.2 billion, which means that they contribute approximately GEL 300 million to the Georgian budget annually.
“There are 37,000 foreign students studying in Georgia, most of whom are citizens of India. 7% of the students are from Jordan, 6% from Israel, 5% from Sudan, and 3-3% from Pakistan, Great Britain and Egypt. One foreign student pays an average of 15,500 GEL per year in tuition fees and spends an additional 16,300 GEL in the country. In total, the contribution of foreign students to the Georgian economy is 1.2 billion GEL, which means that they contribute approximately 300 million GEL to the Georgian budget annually. In addition, more than 10 thousand jobs have been created in Georgia at their expense.
